Badger Nation Giving Back To Our Communities One Hour At A Time
For Global GVBACK Tuesday 2020 Week (Sunday, May 24 – 30, 2020), the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Diversity, Equity and Educational Achievement (DDEEA) students and alumni are encouraged to participate in GVBACK Tuesday 2020, a global project started by one of our UW Mercile J. Lee Scholar alumni.
GVBACK Tuesday encourages people to give back one hour to a service project, big or small, that benefits local communities. Projects include spring community clean-ups, providing free yardwork to elderly, shut-ins, handicap, and low-income residents, assisting your faith community with stocking food banks, and delivering care packages to nursing homes, to name a few. The service opportunities are endless and are up to you.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison, your university, has a chance at making a difference by being the first university invited to participate in this global effort to give back. The GVBACK Tuesday team wants to feature your initiatives, projects, fundraise, and campaigns through its social media platform. A video of our UW-Madison projects will be compiled to recognize your 1-hour give back and to help bring attention to the service you are providing to your community.
To participate, on Monday, May 25, 2020, give back an hour of your time to a project dear to you and post on your social media with the hashtags: @UWMadison, #gvbacktuesday, @gvbacktuesday.
For more information, email Badger alumni firstname.lastname@example.org directly with your project idea so the GVBACK Tuesday team can promote and amplify your one-hour give back. www.gvbacktuesday.com www.instagram.com/gvbacktuesday www.facebook.com/gvbacktuesday
